Deciding what to do for Valentine’s was a challenge for me. I wasn’t loving any of the ideas I had come up with until I watched Love Actually over Christmas. You know that moment when the guy shows up at Keira Knightly’s door with his signs and the last one says “To Me, You are Perfect?” That’s when it hit me, movie quotes. Everyone has one that has really resonated with them or that they love so I picked out five that I liked the most and thus the KateOGroup 2015 Valentine’s Day products were birthed.

There isn’t a lot to this Quotable Valentines Day collection. There are 5 greeting cards which are also available as a print. Beatles Themed Gender Reveal

When we decided to throw a gender reveal party for my sister-in-law we just knew it had to be a Beatles Themed Gender Reveal. I took a custom invitation I had been working on and transformed it into this:

Having the Beatles as the theme for the gender reveal made coming up with decorations and food pretty easy! She had asked me for a few prints for the nursery so I started with those:

We used these as decorations on the food table with a variety of colored frames. (To find out more about these prints visit our shop by clicking here.)

We had a lot of fun putting together the desserts for the party and to find out more about that head to my personal blog (click here). I’ve included a couple recipes in that post.

To incorporate The Beatles theme throughout the party, I created table tents to accompany each dessert and drink option.

How cute is this cake my sister made? I just love how it turned out. It really does look like a field of Strawberries!

I still crack up seeing the “Hey Juice!” tent for the juice; but I can’t take credit for the creativity, it was all Emily Adams. Emily was nice enough to make some fun pin back buttons for the party.

Each guest picked out either a Sgt Pepper (boy) or Eleanor Rigby (girl) pin to show whether they thought baby Lynch would be a boy or a girl. After snacking and hanging out, we finally got to to find out that baby Lynch is:

I know it’s a little blurry but can you tell how excited these grandmom’s are to finally have a granddaughter?? I know I’m super excited to have a niece!

KateOGroup Launches New Midway Hills Christian Church Website

KateOGroup teamed up with Emily Adams on Fire to give her church’s website a make over. Emily having grown up in the church had a vision for the logo and branding, so we stepped in on the technical side of this website build.

One of the things that was the most fun about this site was the Revolution Slider we installed on the home page. Not only does this slider function like your typical slider, but it also has moving parts. The text on the slider image above slides in from both directions. We didn’t need a very complex slider and there is a ton more that can be done with this plugin but to see what we did click here.

Moving the Midway Hills Christian Church website from a 1 & 1 website builder to WordPress was quite a task as this church has been around for over 60 years and has quite a history which resulted in a large amount of content for the site. We incorporated quite a few plugins to bring the church’s website up-to-date and give them all of the functionality they were looking for.
