Sugar and Spice Baby Shower

Back in February I got to throw a baby shower for one of my oldest friends. Throwing showers these days has gotten to be so fun and I don’t think Pinterest deserves all the credit. There were five of us who threw this shower and each one of the hostesses was amazing!

I went a little nuts putting my graphic skills to use. I can’t take credit for coming up with the theme but I had so much fun working with it! Here is the invitation:

Once we figured out who all was bringing what, I went to town applying this design to as many things as possible:

It might seem mean to do a mimosa bar at a baby shower, but we did have some sparkling cider for the mom-to-be and any other non drinkers.

We did this fun twist on the “Don’t Say Baby Game;” everyone got to wear a string of “pearls.”

The mama-to-be has been working candy bars into parties she has hosted so we just knew we had to have one at her shower!

One of the other hostess made jars of cinnamon sugar for everyone to take home with them.

A Sugar and Spice Baby Shower was a great way to celebrate such a fun time and the arrival of a sweet little girl!

Congrats Cynthia & Greg!

Cynthia and Greg tied the knot this past Saturday and I had the opportunity to work with Cynthia on her custom wedding invitations, RSVP cards, thank you notes and the wedding program.

Cynthia’s colors were purple and grey, which I thought was a really nice color combination. She had a good idea of what she wanted to go with for the invitations so we started there. After a couple of drafts we came up with:

We went with a postcard for the RSVP to avoid having to get an extra envelope and as a bonus it gave us the opportunity to include the design a little more.

Next we did a Thank You card:

Originally I meet Cynthia through a friend and that friend just happened to be throwing her a shower which means I got to design a shower invitation:

Then her mom contacted me about a custom wedding shower invitation as well and I decided to base it off the wedding invitation because it was for family and came up with this design:

For the program, Cynthia found this adorable design/pattern online that included a crossword puzzle to give the guests some entertainment while they waited for the ceremony. I can’t take credit for the creative genius of this design but I can say that I absolutely love it!

Working on all of these projects was a lot of fun! Thank you Cynthia and Greg for letting me be a part of your big day and congrats! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!

Custom Shower Invitations

This past year has been fun and exciting! My sister got married and tons of friends have had babies, which means that I have had the opportunity to create custom shower invitations; several baby and wedding shower invitations. It has been a blast! Being able to help add a personal touch to these special events has made each project a fun challenge.

My cousin, who’s last name is Pietsch (pronounced peach) had a baby in the fall and I helped throw her baby shower. For the invitation we decided to play off her last name because we didn’t know at the time the invite went out whether she was having a boy or a girl. Here is the baby shower invitation we used:

Then it was wedding shower time. I helped throw a shower for my sister along with her other bridesmaids. For that shower we went with the colors from her wedding and lots of Pinterest inspiration. My sis in law made a ton of super cute burlap and lace decorations and for the invitation I came up with this idea:

I didn’t help throw this shower for my sister but I was asked to design the wedding shower invitation.

After marrying my sister off it was back to baby showers, which meant I had the chance to design a few more baby shower invitations. The first one was for my friend who was throwing a shower for her sister. We went with the colors for the baby’s nursery:

Then I got to help through a shower for my friend. We had a co-ed baby shower that had a BBQ theme to it. The shower was a blast and the invitation was fun to come up with:
